The nearby Gungahlin Town Centre is perfect for the weekly shop with four major supermarkets and over 100 specialty stores. The newest government school in the ACT is located only 2km away at Amaroo, catering for kindergarten through to secondary school. It is one of four local schools. Forde has provided a 2.9 hectare site in the heart of the Forde community to Burgmann Anglican School. The new Forde campus of Burgmann Anglican School is now open with pre-school, kindergarten and year 1 students attending from February 2009. Construction on stage 2 has also commenced. Up to 550 students are expected to be attending the school upon completion. The school will comprise a gymnasium/multipurpose centre, science labs, art room, design and technology lab, a textiles room, a music room and practice rooms.
