Signing your contract
§ We recommend you seek independent legal advice
§ We require your solicitor’s contact details for preparing the sales advice
§ Please keep us informed if you foresee any problems with your finance approval
Deposit details
§ The initial deposit for a block at Forde is $1000
§ Balance of 10% is to be paid within 10 days
§ Your deposit is fully refundable up until the point of exchange
Settlement
§ Settlement is either 21 days after the contract date, or 14 days after the registration of the Crown Lease, whichever is latest
§ We require a compliance bond or bank guarantee of $2500 at settlement
§ The bond is refundable when your home and front garden are completed according to your approved development application
Design Approval
§ You need to obtain design approval from Forde before you apply for building consent from ACT Planning and Land Authority
§ Your builder or architect can assist in providing the appropriate documentation
Construction
§ Trees on your block have been retained for the character of the area. They cannot be removed
§ Construction work needs to be completed within 2 years of settlement
§ Landscaping must be completed within 3 months of moving in
